A few posts back, you may recall that I was under the weather. That evening, David and I were supposed to attend an wine dinner at a local restaurant with some folks he had met on the Mark Squires bulletin board.
The idea was organized by Scott Greenberg, who writes a nationally syndicated column called “Vine Guy.” The theme of this particular dinner was “the best wines you've never heard of.” Here’s how it worked: each person had to bring a bottle of wine they think is a real find. It had to retail between $30 - $100 and it must be available in the local retail marketplace or be easily acquired online.
I was just too sick to go- so Mike kept David company- and good thing! Not only was the dinner was written up in a local newspaper, but Mike landed a picture! (Too bad they misspelled his last name)

Both of the wines David brought made the honorable mentions list. They were the:
2002 Sean Thackrey Petite Sirah Sirius Eaglepoint Ranch
2006 Do Ferreiro Albariño Rías Baixas Cepas Vellas
Sad I missed the dinner but happy that David and Mike had a good time.
