Paparazzi Game!

**I’m really behind in publishing. I don’t even have a good excuse- we’ve been laying low recently with David studying for his upcoming PMP certification exam and the house hunt on the back burner for the time being. My delay in getting recent happenings posted is no reflection of how I feel about the things we done and the people we've seen recently... I will try to do a better job of getting things up online faster this summer. **

OK, so where were we? Ah yes, earlier this month we went to New Jersey for a really nice weekend with David’s family. We arrived on Friday night and pretty much just crashed when we got to Fran and Dov’s place.

On Saturday morning we enjoyed one of my all-time favorite things to do at their house- spend the morning drinking coffee out on the deck in the backyard and watching birds eat from the bird feeders in the yard. Simple but so enjoyable. It was a great way to start the day.

We went for lunch at Fujiyama Mama, a really yummy sushi place in Westfield.

mmmm, sushi

Afterwards, Fran took me out for a real treat (a manicure!!) while Dov and David picked up Ilan and Patricia from the train station.

When we arrived back at Casa de Ehrlich festivities were in full swing. We looked at photos from Ilan and Patricia's Cuba trip and (of course) took several photos of our own. David is a master at “the paparazzi game” and got several great ‘mostly-candid’ pictures. Ilan was a really great sport about the whole thing.

For dinner, we met up with Ila and Richie at Spat’s Steakhouse. The restaurant is actually located at the Hilton in Woodbridge which is the same hotel that Fran and Dov will hold their 40th Anniversary Party later this summer. We had a delicious meal and a fantastic time!

After dinner we went home to watch Wall-E. Such a cute movie! Ilan had brought it over and although I did not make it through the whole film that night, Fran and I finished watching it on Sunday morning while everyone else snoozed.

After another fantastic morning drinking coffee out on the backyard deck, we hit up one of my absolute favorite brunch spots, 1-9 Seafood Plaza. I’ve written about this dim-sum place before – but each time we go it seems like I discover a new favorite dish. This was Patricia’s first visit and I think she really enjoyed it- she even got a little bit of the hot sauce to take home! Delish.

Sadly, after brunch it was time for us to hit the road and head home. We said farewell and thank you, and had a very easy drive back to Maryland. David snoozed on the couch with Jerry while I unpacked. Jerry has a new spot he likes to hang out in the corner of our bedroom under the tv- so I also snapped a pic of him chillaxin there later that evening.
